Law Courts Recovery Project

Sydney

The Law Courts Building houses the Supreme Court of NSW, Federal Court of Australia, and High Court of Australia. This project included refurbishment works to three levels of the Law Courts Building due to water-damage sustained following a burst water pipe in late 2017. The significant recovery work included high-end level fitout works including replacement of timber joinery to the administrative areas and private chambers of Supreme Court personnel, and replacement of timber panels to Law Courts Building lobby, all carried out within a live building environment.

The refurbishment works were completed with great consideration for the on-going operation of the Law Courts Building, working out-of-hours to eliminate disruption to court proceedings, yet simultaneously working to meet a strict deadline so the displaced tenants could return as soon as possible.

Cadence Australia was engaged by NSW Department of Justice as the Principal's Authorised Person to provide project management services throughout the delivery of the refurbishment works.
