New Brighton Hotel



The Hotel comprises of three levels and basement requiring total refurbishment while retaining the façade with some noteworthy internal elements in the basement. The challenge was to protect the façade stability while completely changing the internal structure and working within the established height constraints to provide a contemporary and market competitive outcome. A detailed fire engineered solution was developed to support the patronage of the upgraded facility.


Cadence Australia was engaged to provide roles including due diligence and risk assessment of the project scope and documentation covering the authority and design management with final contractor documentation, procurement and management.

The project scope of works entailed:


  • Partial excavation with new concrete structure to house all new BOH amenities and services to the basement Level.
  • Creation of the new bar, poker room and smokers courtyard to ground floor.
  • Construct new bar, kitchen, amenities and balcony to Level 1.
  • Create the new nightclub and bar with amenities on Level 2.
  • Recreate the roof terrace, pavilion, bar and amenities taking maximum advantage of the beach views.
  • New lift and hoist to all levels.
  • New services throughout.

Hall 5, Glebe Island



Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe Island was the temporary home for Sydney's major trade and consumer exhibitions during the development of the world class Sydney international convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct at Darling Harbour. The Infrastructure NSW development offered up to 25,000 square metres of high quality space specifically constructed for Sydney's exhibitions and tradeshows.


Cadence Australia was engaged by Infrastructure NSW to provide project management services to deliver Hall 5 providing 5,000m2 of event space. This role initially included coordination of design, Authority approvals, construction and demobilise after the event and extended to working with the Facilities Operations team to deliver an appealing and functional International Exhibition Centre.
